The Coursework pathway equips students to design and implement cyber solutions to real-world challenges through case studies, practical methodologies and the exploration of ethical and legal frameworks. In contrast, the Research pathway focuses on developing advanced research skills by exploring existing literature, identifying research gaps and completing an independent research project—providing a strong foundation for pursuing a PhD.

The subject is a research-based project, giving a capstone experience and piece of scholarship to students that is suitable as a pathway to a PhD. This subject involves in-depth investigation of a significant problem related to cyber security.

This subject is the first part of a two-subject sequence, ideally taught over two consecutive study periods.

Students are required to enrol in ISYS90128 Cyber Security Research Project A (12.5 points) and ISYS90129 Cyber Security Research Project B (12.5 points), consecutively, for a total enrolment of 25 points.

Students will receive a ‘CNT’ grade for Part A. An overall result for the subject is given following completion of the two-subject sequence.

Assessment, Subject Intended Learning Outcomes, and Total Time Commitment applies to the entire enrolment across Parts A and B of the subject.

This subject builds upon the knowledge and skills acquired in Cyber Security Research Project A.

This subject provides students with the opportunity to conduct their proposed cyber security research project under the guidance of an academic supervisor. The subject is a research-based project, giving a capstone experience and piece of scholarship to students that is suitable as a pathway to a PhD.

This subject is the second part of a two-subject sequence, ideally taught over two consecutive study periods.

Students are required to enrol in ISYS90128 Cyber Security Research Project A (12.5 points) and ISYS90129 Cyber Security Research Project B (12.5 points), consecutively, for a total enrolment of 25 points.
