Digital infrastructure engineers work on the systems that connect the physical and digital world. They combine engineering, spatial data and digital technologies to design, deliver and manage smarter, more sustainable and resilient infrastructure throughout its lifecycle.

As a digital infrastructure engineering graduate, you'll solve complex challenges and develop data-driven solutions across industries including:

Build the future with digital infrastructure

Australia's infrastructure sector is rapidly embracing digital transformation, creating growing demand for engineers with advanced digital skills. Organisations are increasingly relying on technologies such as Building Information Modelling (BIM), Internet of Things (IoT), Digital Twins, artificial intelligence (AI) and virtual reality to improve the planning, delivery and management of infrastructure.

Learn how to capture and analyse infrastructure data using technologies such as satellites, robots and laser scanning. You'll combine spatial data with statistics, machine learning and digital simulations to model complex systems, recognise patterns and communicate evidence-based decisions.

Choose your path

If you have a relevant undergraduate major, you'll be able to complete the master's degree in two years.

You'll have a broad range of options to specialise in:

An industry-aligned curriculum

Apply your skills through internships, industry projects, research and innovation challenges, working on real-world infrastructure problems with industry partners.

This program is accredited by the Surveyors Registration Board of Victoria and EUR-ACE, with preliminary accreditation from Engineers Australia.
