Explore key concepts pivotal to treaty negotiations
Extend your understanding of key concepts crucial to treaty processes. Examine theories such as Indigenous sovereignty and Indigenous-settler relations, and reflect on the role they play in agreement-making and treaty negotiations.
Understand the core principles of Indigenous governance
Explore Indigenous governance from both a conceptual and structural viewpoint. Understand the important role that cultural values, traditions and laws play in Indigenous communities, and consider ways the Indigenous right to self-governance might shape treaty-making practices.
Course structure
To gain the Professional Certificate in Treaty, you must complete 25 credit points at level 9, comprising of two core subjects: Indigenous Treaties & Future Relations, and Indigenous Governance Principles.
