Your University of Melbourne equivalent score is calculated by comparing your previous study to an Australian university qualification standard, providing an initial comparison to our own grade scale.
To determine the University of Melbourne equivalent score we look at your academic record and calculate the equivalent score based on the following factors:
- Your transcript includes grades (including fails and withdrawals).
- Minimum and maximum passing grades at your previous institution.
- The international standing of the University you have received your degree(s) from.
- Your likelihood to succeed based on your academic background.
- Australian Government guidelines which recognise and assess international universities and educational institutions.
Differences in grades
Grades gained from previous tertiary study do not always equal the same grade on the University of Melbourne grade scale due to differences in grading conventions. As a result, the outcome of our University of Melbourne equivalent score may differ from your previous tertiary education.
