Commonwealth Supported Places (CSPs) are available. Applicants will not be able to apply for a CSP for this course, but all domestic applicants will be considered for one. CSPs will be allocated on the basis of academic merit or eligibility for Graduate Access Melbourne. Most CSPs will be offered following a selection round for applicants who have already received an Australian fee place offer, while some CSPs may be offered throughout the year to a small number of applicants. The selection rounds for CSP allocation will take place in December (for intakes in the first half of the year) and May (for intakes in the second half of the year) and applicants who are awarded a CSP will be contacted via email.
Unless otherwise noted, the indicative total course fee shown above assumes a study load of 1 EFTSL (equivalent full-time student load) commencing semester one of the listed year, except for courses with a duration of less than 1 EFTSL.
Fees are subject to annual review by the University, with any new rates effective from the beginning of each calendar year.

Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP)
If you are enrolled in a Commonwealth Supported Place for your graduate course, your tuition fees are subsidised by the Australian Government. You’ll still need to pay a student contribution amount. This fee is organised in bands based on the discipline area of the subjects that you take, not the course you are studying. The discipline fees are set each year by the Australian Government.
You can pay your student contribution amount to the University when you enrol (upfront), or you can defer this cost through the Australian Government’s Higher Education Loan Program (HECS-HELP) if you’re eligible.
HECS-HELP
HECS-HELP is the Australian Government’s Higher Education Loan Program. It enables you to borrow the amount of your student contribution and then pay that loan back once you are in the workforce and earning at a specified level. A HECS-HELP loan is not means tested. HECS-HELP is available to eligible Australian citizens and permanent humanitarian visa holders who are enrolled in a CSP.
Australian Fee Places
When you apply, you will automatically be considered for an Australian fee place if you meet course entry requirements. You’ll pay tuition fees for each year that you are enrolled, fees may be adjusted each year.
Tuition fees are calculated according to your course and study load each semester. You can defer payment of your fees via the Australian Government’s FEE-HELP loan scheme if you are eligible. If your course is relevant to your current employment, you may be able to claim fees as a work-related tax deduction.
FEE-HELP
FEE-HELP can cover all or part of your tuition fees. The Australian Government pays the amount of the loan direct to the University. It enables you to borrow the amount of your tuition fees and then pay that loan back once you are in the workforce and earning at a specified level or you can make voluntary repayments to the ATO at any time.
FEE-HELP is not means tested and there is no loan fee for graduate study. If you already have a HECS-HELP loan from your undergraduate studies, you can still access a FEE-HELP loan. No interest is charged on your FEE-HELP loan, however, it is indexed each year with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in line with the cost of living.
The Government’s Study Assist website provides more information about Australian fee places, Commonwealth Supported Place and HELP Loans.

International student fees
Tuition fees are charged for each year you are enrolled. You will pay tuition fees according to your specific enrolment in any given semester.
Your tuition fees are subject-based. The amount charged is determined by a subject's discipline fee band and its study load (credit points). Fee bands are determined by the content of the subject, not the course. Fees will be calculated after you have enrolled and selected your subjects and may differ from the fee estimate provided above.
Fees are subject to annual review and may be adjusted each year.
Visa requirements
With an Australian student visa, you can only take full-time study in a CRICOS-registered course. You also need to have met character and any additional health tests, as well as have acceptable Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC).
See Visa information (external link)
Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)
International students on a student visa must arrange visa-length Overseas Student Health Cover while studying in Australia.
OSHC covers the cost of out-of-hospital medical treatment, pharmaceuticals, and emergency ambulance services while you are in Australia.
You are usually required to arrange and purchase this at the same time as accepting your course offer. For further information on choosing and arranging your OSHC visit our student services webpage.
