Fees and payments

Fees shown are indicative only and assume a full-time study load unless otherwise indicated. Actual course fees are calculated on the number and type of subjects taken each year. If the duration of the course is less than one year or if you study less than a standard full-time load, fees are adjusted accordingly. The University reviews fees each year. More information about tuition fees.

Your fees explained

Your course is equivalent in quality and accreditation to an on-campus qualification. Each subject is designed by academics, subject coordinators and learning designers to deliver an interactive and enriching experience, with regular contact from lecturers, tutors and a dedicated online student support team.

The fee is based on the study load that the student is taking. Fees are paid on a per subject basis each term, and total course fees are not required to be paid up-front.

Australian Fee Places

When you apply, you will automatically be considered for an Australian fee place if you meet course entry requirements.

You’ll pay tuition fees for each year that you are enrolled. Tuition fees are calculated according to your course and study load each semester. You may defer payment of your fees via the Australian Government’s FEE-HELP loan scheme if you are eligible.

If your course is relevant to your current employment, you may be able to claim fees as a work-related tax deduction.

Tuition fees may be adjusted each year.

FEE-help

FEE-HELP can cover all or part of your tuition fees. The Australian Government pays the amount of the loan direct to the University. You’ll make repayments through the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) whenever your income is above the threshold, or you can make voluntary repayments to the ATO at any time.

FEE-HELP is not means tested and there is no loan fee for graduate study. If you already have a HECS-HELP loan from your undergraduate studies, you can still access a FEE-HELP loan. No interest is charged on your FEE-HELP loan, however, it is indexed each year with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in line with the cost of living.

The Government’s Study Assist website provides more information about FEE-HELP.

International student fees

Tuition fees are charged for each year you are enrolled. You will pay tuition fees according to your specific enrolment in any given semester.

Your tuition fees are subject-based. The amount charged is determined by a subject's discipline fee band and its study load (credit points). Fee bands are determined by the content of the subject, not the course. Fees will be calculated after you have enrolled and selected your subjects and may differ from the fee estimate provided above.

Fees are subject to annual review and may be adjusted each year.

Visa requirements

With an Australian student visa, you can only take full-time study in a CRICOS-registered course. You also need to have met character and any additional health tests, as well as have acceptable Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC).

See Visa information (external link)

Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)

International students on a student visa must arrange visa-length Overseas Student Health Cover while studying in Australia.

OSHC covers the cost of out-of-hospital medical treatment, pharmaceuticals, and emergency ambulance services while you are in Australia.

You are usually required to arrange and purchase this at the same time as accepting your course offer. For further information on choosing and arranging your OSHC visit our student services webpage.

Other financial assistance

The University's Student Financial Aid Service can provide you with advice and information on student loans and bursaries/grants, and can connect you to other student support services.
