Entry requirements for the Uni Ready Enabling Program
Essential requirements for admission
Applicants must have completed secondary school (or equivalent) with an ATAR of 70 or higher. Students who are currently enrolled in a higher education course are not eligible.
Prerequisites
To be eligible for entry to this course, you must have completed the following subjects and achieved these minimum scores:
- Units 1 & 2 (Year 11) in VCE Mathematical Methods. Satisfactory completion only required.
- Units 3 & 4 (Year 12): A study score of at least 25 in VCE English/English Language/ Literature or at least 30 in English as an Additional Language (EAL).
Students who have completed Units 3 & 4 VCE Mathematical Methods (or equivalent) with a study score of 25 or more are not eligible for the Uni Ready Enabling Program.
Additional prerequisites
Applicants entering the Science Pathway and intending to progress to the Bachelor of Science must have completed Units 3 & 4 in VCE Biology, Chemistry or Physics with a study score of at least 25.
English language proficiency
All applicants to the University of Melbourne must satisfy the English language requirements. If English is not your first language or the language of instruction in your previous education, you may meet the English language requirements by completing an approved English language proficiency test and achieving the required score. There are also alternative approved methods to satisfy the requirements.
Student selection
Places in the Program are limited. Meeting the entry requirements does not guarantee that an applicant will receive an offer of a place. Applicants who belong to one or more of the following priority groups (supporting documentation required) will be prioritised in selection:
- Students living in low socio-economic areas
- Students living in a regional or remote location
- Indigenous students
- Students with a disability
If ranking of students belonging to these priority groups is required, this will be done using the Access Melbourne eligibility calculator with consideration for academic performance (i.e. ATAR).
If places have not been exhausted by the above groups or other Access Melbourne eligible applicants, other domestic applicants will be considered, with ranking based on academic performance.
