As an Access Melbourne applicant, you may be eligible for guaranteed entry into an undergraduate course or select Graduate Degree Package.
Single degree guarantees
If you’re eligible for one of the below Access Melbourne circumstances, meet the course prerequisites, preference appropriately and achieve the ATAR (or notional ATAR) listed in the table, you’ll be guaranteed an offer in your first VTAC offer round for Semester 1, 2027 entry:
- Resident of a regional or remote area
- Disadvantaged financial background
- Living in formal out-of-home care or experiencing homelessness*
- Living in Australia as a refugee on a permanent humanitarian visa (and will receive an ATAR or notional ATAR)*
- Recognised as an Indigenous Australian.
Applicants eligible under other Access circumstances are considered on an individual basis.
Students experiencing homelessness or formal out-of-home care and refugees, apply for Access Melbourne consideration under difficult circumstances.
Graduate Degree Package guarantees
A Graduate Degree Package is a combined offer for an undergraduate degree and a place in a specialised graduate course. If you already know the career path you want to pursue, a Graduate Degree Package can help secure your graduate place before you begin your undergraduate studies. With a package offer you’ll save on course fees through a guaranteed a Commonwealth Supported Place – where a portion of your tuition fee is paid by the Australian Government
Access Melbourne ATAR guarantees are available for select Graduate Degree Packages. You must apply for, and meet the requirements for these Access Melbourne circumstances:
- Resident of a regional or remote area
- Reside in a low socioeconomic area according to a government definition (disadvantaged financial background)
- Recognition as an Indigenous Australian.
Applicants who have experienced educational disadvantage due to a disability or medical condition will also be given consideration. This will be based on the level of impact it has had on the student’s ability to study.
